1. 자기소개 Would you introduce yourself briefly?

이름은 마크 알비트라리오이고, < The Voice >와 같은 미국의 서바이벌 프로그램을 만드는 미국의 TV 프로듀서 입니다. 싱가포르에서 제작된 < Asia's Next Top Model >을 감독했으며, 한국에 영화와 TV 프로젝트를 촬영하기 위한 제작회사를 설립했습니다.

My name is Mark Arbitrario and I am an American Television Producer who’s worked on shows like Survivor, The Voice and I was the director of Asia’s Next Top Model in Singapore. I’ve set up a production company here in Korea to shoot film and television projects.

2. 보안여관(보안스테이)를 알게 된 경로 How did you get to know BOAN STAY?

보안여관의 큐레이터 윤지혜와 학교 친구인 나의 모델 친구가 보안여관의 전시에 데려왔습니다. 그녀는 우리에게 공간을 보여주었고, 예술가들이 머물 수 있는 공간이 있다고 이야기해주었습니다.
저는 샌디애고의 캘리포니아대학교에서 미술 전공을 했으며 이 공간을 보고 프로듀서가 되기 전 시각예술가로서의 과거를 떠올렸습니다. 전 프로젝트를 함께 진행하는 친구와 머물고 있었지만 페이스에 변화를 주기 위해 예술가들을 위한 멋진 공간에 머무르고자 했습니다.

My model friend took me to the Boan exhibition and she went to school with one of your curators, Jihye Yoon. Jihye gave us a tour of the place and mentioned you had places where artists could work and stay.
I actually was an art major at the University of California at San Diego for my MFA, and seeing this art space made me remember my past as a visual artist before I became a television producer. Since I am working on a project and staying with a friend, I decided to have a change of pace and try to stay in a nice area for artists.

3. 한국(서울)에 방문한 이유 Would you tell me what brings you in Seoul/Korea?

한 TV 쇼를 마친 뒤 코로나바이러스가 확산되었습니다. 배우 친구인 David McInnis와 우리 팀은 한국의 록밴드인 부활의 비디오 시리즈 프로젝트를 작업하고 있었고, 저는 그 프로젝트를 마치기 위해 한국에 왔습니다. 이 프로젝트가 끝난 뒤 부활은 데뷔 35주년을 맞이해 새로운 뮤직비디오 제작을 원했습니다. 촬영을 마쳤고 현재 편집중입니다. 작업을 할 멋지고 조용한 공간을 찾고 있었기 때문에 보안스테이에 오게 되었습니다. (사진첨부)

I finished a TV show and then COVID hit. My friend David McInnis, who’s an actor friend, and our team had been working on a video series featuring the Korean rock band, Boohwal (부활) and I came here to finish that project. When that was over Boohwal wanted us to shoot their making of their new music video since it is their 35th anniversary of the band this year. So we did the shoot and now I am currently trying to edit it. So since I wanted a nice and quiet area to work, I’ve set up my office at Boanstay! I’ll attach a photo of my edit bay setup.

4. 보안스테이에서의 경험은 어땠는지 Would you tell me how was the staying in BOAN STAY?

지금까지의 보안스테이는 사랑스럽습니다. 저는 다음달까지 한국에서 일할 예정인데요, 장기투숙이 가능한지 궁금합니다.
So far I love Boanstay. I was curious if there was a long term rental since I will be working here in Korea next month.
